Although Richie is no longer active on the field, he is still very much involved in the sporting community; working as a sky sports commentator and a New Zealand an ex Rugby League Test selector for approximately four years. He is the face of ANZMES (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Awareness) in New Zealand and has offered his time and energy to taking part in podcasts, interviews and articles for medical students in this field.
